Frequently Asked
Questions About Miss Cheerleader of America™:
1). Normally there are 10 to 50 cheerleaders competeting (varies
by size of state). 2). Normally there are one to three cash scholarship prizes awarded (varies by size of pageant).
One of the Top First Place Scholarship Award for 2007-2008 and 2006-2007 was $1000.00; 2005-2006 was $1500.00; others
were $1000.00 depending on the size of the program. Each other First Place Scholarhsip Award for the 2001-2002,
2002-2003, 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 school years was $1000.00. In some cases (depending on the size of the pageant) second
and Third Place Scholarships ranged from $750.00 to $500.00 each. Of course, not every girl wins a scholarship, but
the experience is wonderful and rewarding! 3). Selections are held over a weekend at a hotel within driving distance
from the girls. Cheerleaders are assigned rooms - two to a room, usually alphabetically by school. There is an 10 p.m. to
11 p.m. bed check by two female staff members. 4). Parents will be sent hotel rate information when State Finalist are
notified. 5). Cheerleader may opt to stay with parents in their room at the hotel. For this option; a letter must be
mailed to the main office -- Miss Cheerleader of America™, Box 667, Taylor, MI 48180 -- THREE weeks before the pageant
stating that the cheerleader wants to stay in parents' room. 6). Because girls come from such varied sports & education
backgrounds -- small private schools to large public schools -- there is no cheer skills competition to give every girl a
chance to win scholarships. 7). Girls may have help from female parent, sister, friend with hair and make-up. 8).
Tickets for the pageant are $10.00 for parents, chaperones, relatives, or friends. Parents and friends also may attend
the Banquet. (Prices vary depending on where pageant is held). Banquets usually are held on Saturday evening. Pageants usually
are held on Sunday afternoon. 9). Interviews are short one-on-one with three or four judges held privately. Most girls
leave interview room with a smile on their face saying how much fun it was. The judges are not out to get the girls or make
them feel uncomfortable. 10). Unlike "beauty pageants," the girls who participate at Miss Cheerleader of America™
make good friends with others contestants. The girls have many things in common. Most of the cheerleaders have never been
in a "pageant" before. They are proud to be cheerleaders. They are proud and honored to be Miss Cheerleader of America™
State Finalists.

Back stage is a flutter of activities, as the cheerleaders eat
lunch and prepare to go on stage. Waiting to go on, this girl takes a peek at the audience to find her family and
friend. Each cheerleader walks the runway (see below) in a beautiful gown, wearing her sash and tiara. Some girls
wear their Homecoming or Prom gowns; other girls borrow a dress to wear for the event.
